JACOB TROUTT DIES IN MT. VERNON

After an illness of some six or eight weeks Jacob Troutt passed away at 7:30 this morning, at his home at 316 Johnson Avenue.

Mr. Troutt came to this city many years ago from McLeansboro and opened up a blacksmith shop in this city. He has remained in this business constantly until about two months ago when the condition of his health forced him to retire.

Mr. Troutt, who was 70 years of age, had always been of a strongly religious nature and took much interest in the work of all churches. It was while attending the Bonnie Camp Meeting last August that he suffered an attack of something in the nature of a paralytic stroke and had to be brought to his home in the city in an ambulance. Since that time his health has been rather poor, but he kept to his anvil and retained his active interest in church work as long as he was able to be about.

He is survived by his wife and the following children: Henry, John, Milton, and Bert of this city and Marshall, who lives at Madison, Illinois. Also Mrs. Nellie Hollowell of Memphis Tenn., Mrs. Laura Underwood of San Bernardino, California, Mrs. Oma Mason of St. Louis and Mrs. Frances Byrd of this city.

Funeral Services were held in Mt. Vernon at the Church of God on Bell street. Burial took place at Oakwood.
