James Chambless Letter Of Estate State of Tennesse
Robertson County Court September Term 1851

Whereas it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that James Chambless is dead and having made no will or testament and application being made by John Banibridge to have Letters of estate granted to him upon the estate oftho said James Chambless deed. he having given bond and security as by law in such case is required the court therefore order that he have Letter of Estate accordingly. These are therefore to authorize and --- tho said John Banibridge to enter into and upon all and singular the govd and chattels rights and credits of the said James Chambless decd and the same into your possession take whensoever to be found in this state and a true and perfect inventory thereof make, and release into our insuing Court, Court in oath, and all the just debts of the --- pay so far as the said estate will amount or extend the residence thenof deliver to those who may have a right thereto by law herein fail not Witness I EIOinpecca (?)

I do hereby certify that the above is a true list of the property found in the way of sale said to belong to the late James Chambless Decd

J Banibridge appointed by & for the heirs this August 15th 1851

An Account of the effects belonging to the estate of the late James Chambless Decd that have come into the hands of J Bambridge Administrator of the said estate which are principally notes from the fact that the heirs of said estate thought best to make a sale before court come in to get Letter of Administration to present the property from wasting then being no one on the place where said Chambless died to take care of the property said sale came off the 15 day of August and letter were obtained on the first Monday in September following it being it being the first court day after the decease of Mrs Nancy Chambless wife of the said Chambless which occurred soon after the death of the said James Chambless and which left the property without protection there was perhaps some two weeks between the death of the two above named persons

First on note is Jesse M Pilant for 23.45 & Mr --- Hobbs Security owe 15 feby next 25.65
2nd Henry & J G Glover note for $9.00
3 on H A Chambless & William Pool for $2.25 owe 15 feby 1851   2.25
4 on William Pool & Henry A Chambless for $8.80 owe feby 15 1851 8.80
